Pedestrian Safety. Prioritize sidewalk construction on key connecting streets through the SAFE program so residents can safely walk to schools, parks, transit, and local businesses.
Fully Support Existing Partnerships. Maintain beneficial collaborations between Milwaukie Police Department, their Behavioral Health Unit Specialists Glen and Trista, Ledding Library, St. John the Evangelist’s Heating Shelter, and Father’s Heart Street Ministry.
Affordable
Responsible and Affordable Housing. Build truly affordable housing through the use of creative building and land banking to allow residents to build equity through homeownership. Responsibly build the right kind of housing in each neighborhood without over-building and overwhelming public parking. Include shared green spaces when applicable. Build it right instead of simply checking a box to say we did it. Listen to the neighbors who are living daily with the consequences of city policy and code.
SDCs and Building Integrity. Increase SDCs (System Development Charges) to invigorate our local infrastructure and attract builders who thoughtfully build homes in neighborhoods in which they would want to live.
Unfunded State Mandates. Collaborate with League of Oregon Cities and Association of Oregon Counties on an upcoming bill that demands fiscal analysis of policy impacts on cities.
County Grants. Fill city-level needs through county allocations and grants.

Green Building and Clean Energy. Collaborate with organizations to shape policy and leverage resources to use green building and clean energy options that cost consumers less.
